HOW TO CHOOSE UNIVERSITY IN CHINA .
session 1 brief overview
China is the second largest country that has the biggest population in the world but besides that china is also the safest country to be for study , business, tourism etc. so studying in China is a huge decision. You are away from your family and friends in a totally new environment. There is a drastic cultural and language shock. And you may be appalled by the sudden changes from your home country.
Hence my personal experience about coming to china to study relate a lot , i was lucky that my personal familly was involved when i said involved means the person thats helped to choose a good university was my uncle so i did not get abused or scam . thats the reason why i will tell to those who wants to come to study in china to don’t fear about how to get a good universities and about your life in China. AOE Chinese will provide you with the most professional services in Chinese university applications. We also offer Mandarin courses and HSK services which will also facilitate you study in China.
session 2 best universities presentation and details
China is a huge country with huge geographical span, rich educational resources, booming economy, diverse cultural experiences, and lots of employment opportunities. There are more than 1000 universities in China, with 100 of them being within the top 1000 according to the QS global ranking. China attracts international students from all over the world. There is the C9 university, “Chinese ivy leagues”. There are 985 programs, elite universities. The 211 programs include universities that are elevated to an international standard.
- With so many choices, what should people consider?
Do you wish to stay in China for the long term or the short term? Almost every university in China that hosts international students would provide short-term exchange programs or language programs that last for a semester or a year. There are also degree programs at different educational level offered by different universities, and those degree programs would require adequate Chinese skills, and long period of dedication.
- Do you wish to improve your Chinese skills, or is Chinese skills not that important to you?
Big cities are more international, and you will be more likely hanging out with foreigners. These cities include Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou with large expat communities, and you can get along just with English, or maybe your native language. Smaller cities such as Hangzhou, Chongqing and Xi’an are more local, and would be more helpful for picking up your Chinese skills.
- Consider going to academia upon graduation?
To be able to pursue academic research positions, it is better to attend the C9 or the 985 universities. A PhD degree from those schools would make one largely competitive worldwide. If your plan is just to choose a job after graduation, then a good-ranking university would be enough.
- Is your major of choice very important?
Different universities offer programs in different fields, and the national/global ranking of those programs would vary in those fields. For example, Peking university would be better with liberal arts classes, and Tsinghua university are better in engineering and science degrees. Renmin University would be better with journalism, law, and political science programs.
session 3 advantage of small cities to learn chinese
Cities in China are also quite different. As we previously mentioned, smaller cities are better for Chinese skill acquisition and bigger cities host higher international populations. Considering the huge geographical distance in China, different cities also show different climates and cultural experiences. There are coastal cities such as Qingdao, Dalian, and Ningbo, where you can swim in the beach and try delicious seafood. Northern cities in China are more dry and conservative. Southern cities in China are more humid and also have greater landscapes and are great for travelling. The cities in the west can allow you to experience ethnic cultures in China.
In this case i can tell because i start from a small city xiamen in fujian province where i learned chinese and i can assure 100% that my chinese improved , so small cities are very profitable to learn chinese .
session 4 finance obstacles and solutions
Finances are also important to consider. Better ranking universities offer great scholarship programs for international students, but they are generally very difficult to apply for. You can also consider going to universities in mid-tier cities where the cost of living and tuition is lower. In Hangzhou, there are many good universities with little tuition, and Hangzhou is not all that expensive either.
however , being a student in a foreign country aint easy at all but we actually made the choice to make our own way that being said we must learn some online business and also develop some of our talents to get out of some finances issues .
All in all, AOE Chinese is a professional service provider in study-in-China programs, and we will guide you through the whole process of Chinese university application.
